Frydek is one of the very popular Alocasia varieties. The well-defined vein patterns on the matte-feeling green leaves give it a minimalist look. It is easier to care for than other Alocasia varieties and is often used as an indoor foliage plant for decoration, making it a rather tropical-looking plant.

Alocasia Frydek will grow well under 25 ~ 30 degrees, will stop growing in winter when temperature below 15 degrees. Make sure the temperature is not below 10 degrees for its safe growth.

The plant should be planted in loose, breathable, well-drained, and nutrient-rich soil. The soil should be drained as much as possible to keep it moist but cannot be waterlogged.

In winter, the plant grows slowly, which should reduce watering and give it more light. During the peak growing season, you need to supplement liquid fertilizer or organic fertilizer regularly, which can make the leaves more colorful and glossy.

Alocasia frydek, the whole plant, is poisonous. Especially the stems of the plant underground, skin contact with its sap may cause itching; accidental ingestion will cause vomiting, dizziness, and other toxic reactions and need to seek medical attention.
