Key Characteristics

  • Leaves: The leaves of Dracaena draco are rosette of long, narrow, rigid, sword-shaped leaves, and can reach lengths of 2-3 feet (60-90cm). They are usually dark green and can have a slightly waxy texture.
  • Growth: The thick, trunk-like stem that can grow up to 30 feet (9 meters) tall in optimal conditions.
  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate some direct sun.Too much direct sunlight can scorch the leaves.
  • Water: Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot. It tolerates of low humidity.
  • Temperature: Ideal temperature range is between 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C).
