Product Description

The Ficus ginseng, also known as the Ficus microcarpa or Fig, is a species of fig tree that originates from southern China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.

The leaves are small, oval-shaped, dark green, glossy and the roots have a distinctive wrinkled, gnarled appearance that resembles the roots of a ginseng plant, that's why they got the common name ginseng.

The focal point of the plant is their trunk have a twisted, gnarly look that adds to the plant's unique aesthetic appeal. They prefer bright, indirect light and well-draining, slightly acidic soil. It should be watered regularly but allowed to partially dry out between waterings.

Proper pruning and training is required to maintain the plant's appealing shape and proportions when grown as a houseplant or bonsai. They grow slowly but can live for many years.

Ficus ginseng is an easy to care plant. The unique and distinctive trunk shape and size of ginseng makes it a stand-out addition to any bonsai collection.
