    Key Characteristics

    • Leaves: Large, leathery, and violin-shaped with prominent veins and deep green color.
    • Growth: Mature plants can develop a thick, woody trunk and branches, and grow up to 6-10 feet (1.8-3m) indoors with proper care. Leaves can grow up to 12-18 inches(30-45cm) long.
    • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch its leaves.
    • Water: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot. Needs moderate to high humidity levels.
    • Temperature: Ideal temperature range is between 65°F to 85°F (18°C to 29°C). It does not tolerate cold drafts or sudden temperature changes.
    • Soil: Well-draining potting mix; a mix of peat, perlite, and pine bark works well.
    • Toxicity: Sap can be irritating and toxic if ingested, so keep away from pets and children.
